Anti-Social Distancing & Gratitude

Good day readers and followers, I know it has been a very long time since my last post. This whole coronavirus, covid-19, pandemic world has left many of us in a state of suspense and stress. I am not no exception to this notion. I am in the state of PA, USA. We went into a true lockdown in April and that was partially lifted in June.   My fictitious enclave of Questionnopolis is in suburban Philadelphia. Down here in the southeast corner of the state we have the highest level of illness, infection and death attributed to the coronavirus. This is not a great trifecta. In the lockdown there were no haircuts, no restaurants and no gyms. I went 13 weeks without a haircut. Literally getting a "back alley" haircut one day after calling my longtime barber. My barber lives near me and I asked if he would give me a haircut in his garage, he told me to just come to the shop, but come early and go to the backdoor. The backdoor is off an alley. Strange times. Strange times ind...

Bear Bones VS Bare Bones

Good day readers and followers.  Today, here in the city of Questionopolis, or suburban Philadelphia, PA, USA is a bright and sunny day.  I hope that yours is too.  The world has been on fire, literally.  The world has been in a the hold of the global coronavirus pandemic and the emotional upheaval of not only protests but abject violence.  The protests were warranted.  The violence, looting, arson and anarchy are not.  As the world takes notice of the changes that must take place in humanity- our voices, our actions and how we treat one another will evolve. I have other concerns too.  The disruption of nature and habitats for our animal friends.  I've never been known to be a "tree-hugger."  However, I have long been an outdoorsman.  Fishing, camping, formerly hunting have been all been enjoyable activities for me.  Trail cycling and an occasional hike too.  Here, in the US, more specifically, in my home state of PA there...

Corona and humor

Good day readers and followers, It has been a full season or two since my last post.  I have long been told that I have an off-beat or unusual sense of humor.  I concur.  However, humor, laughter is necessary for survival.  Life is serious enough.  In the nearly seven months since my last blog much has happened.  Mostly a history changing worldwide health crisis.  A pandemic. What is a pandemic?  Thank you to the trusted Webster family and their dictionary;  Pandemic : A disease epidemic that has spread through multiple continents.  Until about the end of 2019 Corona was known mostly as a beer brand. Strangely popular, mostly tasteless, thin and overpriced.  Corona is also known as a poem or the name of a small city or town.  There are six here in the USA, plus a neighborhood in the borough of Queens in NY City.  NY City happens to have the highest level of both cases and unfortunately deaths. A neighborhood with a na...
