Criminal Lies, Criminal should....
Hello readers and followers, welcome to the new year. Welcome to 2019. While it is a new year and we wish everyone a "Happy New Year," and I do wish that for all of you, my first blog of 2019 is not one filled with joy or happiness. This may ramble a bit...as some of my pieces tend to do. Just over a year ago I wrote a piece called Trial of Infamy and Tears. The piece was about a thoroughly beautiful human being, a young lady, Jenna Burleigh, who was a student at my alma mater, Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, USA. Jenna was murdered just off campus back on 8/31/2017.
The preliminary trial was just beginning - in the middle of the Christmas holiday season 2017, the first such that the Burleigh's would endure without their 22 year old daughter. Jenna will be remembered as forever young. It is a real shame. Now, as we begin 2019 a jury trial has begun. More horrifying details for the family to endure, more lies from the accused. I will cut right to it- not just accused, with all the evidence, the inescapable truth is that the accused is the murderer. The monster who murdered her, Josh Hupperterz is a liar. Everyone that knows me is aware that I despise liars. He has spun such an unbelievable web of lies he is stuck in the middle but still in denial.
To make matters worse, he has accused his former roommate of being the murderer. This despite the fact that the physical evidence, video, electronic records, timeline all clearly point Hupperterz as the only one who could've been the culprit. Going so far as to tell his roommate, Jack Miley, in an afternoon phone call on 8/31/2017 that he was in NC. He was not- he was found at his grandmother's house in northeastern PA. The first of many lies. Jenna's body was in Hupperterz;s grandmother's garage, where he had taken a car service in the early morning hours.
The trial, in the city of both my birth and my country's birth, Philadelphia, PA has the worst District Attorney on the face of the planet. As a former public defender he still supports criminals. There are many cases that piss the victims off where the criminals get a great deal. The DA's office went so far as to have already offered a plea of third degree murder to Hupperterz to avoid a trial. He turned it down and insists that Miley was the culprit. This despite the fact the Hupperterz took Jenna's lifeless body from their apartment to his parents house... which is very near mine, then to grandma's house in the mountains. Sickening.
Jack Miley looks like he has been punched in the stomach. Stunned, almost without breath and incredulous that this is happening. I would look that way too. I would look that way knowing that someone was murdered in my apartment while I slept off a night of intoxication where I mixed prescription drugs with alcohol. I truly hope everything Miley is saying is true, that he didn't know why he awoke in the afternoon of 8/31/2017 to find Hupperterz cleaning up blood in their apartment. Considering the web of lies already spun I just don't know. I do know that I find this all horrifying and terrifying. I am the father of two daughters and grandfather to a granddaughter. I almost never turn my phone off. I have gotten several calls to come and help them but all are still living. Hupperterz should not be.
I am unapologetic. Murderers should die. I support making it public again too. The clown DA in Philly has done some small things that were improvements. Mostly, he supports criminals. A public execution would do much more to curtail criminal behavior than the plea deals from this moron's office. Eye for an eye, hand for a hand. life for a life. I know, I know - it won't bring Jenna back. To those among you that feel that a public execution is barbaric...well, what of the barbaric murders? Yeah. F' You. The Answerman says "Liars are despicable, criminals even more so, criminal liars have two strikes against them. Criminal liars that murder should die."
