Flying Horses, Testicles & Truth
Hello my somewhat dormant readers and followers. The last two months have brought so many issues to the surface that I didn't know what to address...but now I do. Dishonesty, it rides mostly on a train that is going downhill- then stalls. We have collected some honest factoids to hopefully get the engine uphill.
First off, are there "Flying Horses?" Nope! The mythical pegasus, etc never existed. Does a Pegasus have gender differences, i.e. a vagina and a penis w/testicles? NO, they are f@cking mythical, WTF? Does the Answerman say "I don't give a flying horse's balls what you say" for nothing?" It is a go-to phrase when something strikes me as so unbelievable, useless or dishonest that I don't know what to say. I don't know when it started but in a moment of frustration I just blurted that out. Now it's just something that comes out when I'm frustrated with someone's actions/words.
The truth is that you believe what the evidence tells you. Local guy Hank at The Run Around
is a good guy. Brash, conservative, community oriented while watching his bottom line. Not everyone likes Hank but he is always honest. You never have to question what he says. I like that about him and anyone. Everyone has opinions or how to run things in this world and we should - as long as we are honest. Then there are others that are such compulsive liars that they don't know what lies they've told.
In the last couple of months I've had a series of business discussions that really didn't go my way. I followed what I was told and really had to go on what I was told as being truthful. It was not. In the end the person I was dealing with throughout the process decided afterward that he "never would have made those recommendations." My response " I don't give a flying horses balls..... " You get it, right? I followed it with "Oh by the way you made the recommendation on my voicemail. The one that I still have saved." Doh!
The backtracking and stream of additional conflicting dishonesty to cover for their lies was sickening. In the end I got stuck due to the dishonesty. Not cool...not cool at all. As they continued to run on and on I said "I'm done, I'm done listening to you- do you even hear the words falling out of your face? I'm done."
The Answerman says "Just tell the truth- and it cannot be stretched. Lies don't come in sizes, shapes and colors. If you make a faulty recommendation in business or otherwise then own your statement and step up and be responsible. If I reach the point of saying "I don't give a flying horses balls what you think, say or do" then you need to shut down and disappear.
